Achieve3000 provides literacy instruction tailored to individual student needs. An initial placement test identifies each student’s Lexile-based reading level, and text complexity adjusts as students’ reading skills develop over time. At each grade level, the program provides 74 lessons based on non-fiction articles that are grade-level appropriate and address student interests (e.g., Lady Gaga, basketball, the Titanic). Writing instruction is provided through Achieve3000’s Writing Center,
which includes writing prompts and tools to develop grammar, editing, and revising skills. Writing prompts address narrative, informative/explanatory, and argument genres.
